Velocity and Feed the Children

We are fortunate enough to be involved with Feed The Children. This is a non profit organization that delivers food, medicine, & other necessities to children and their families in need due to famine, war, or natural disasters. Our donation each month is enough to care for 3 abandoned babies in Africa, 3 children in the United States, & 3 children worldwide. Please visit the organization's website, www.feedthechildren.org, to learn more.

Casey Chorice, Founder

I got my start in the music business in 1998 doing promotions for independent street team companies. This led to my job as a Sony Music College Rep for the Lawrence/Kansas City area promoting all Sony Music artists. From here, I met the local promoters that brought all the events to the area and started interning for them. I ran some shows, worked shows, and did their street marketing.

A few years of doing that I saw the need for a local street company in the area & I developed Velocity in 2001 to focus solely on the local promoter’s street team. After several years, we are still going strong and have developed beyond just a street team company and now offer an array of marketing choices. The hands on experience from running the business has been priceless & the best learning experience I could have ever received.

Each time I’m at a show I remember the reason I was draw to the industry…seeing the passion the audience has for the artist and experiencing their own moment at a live show.

I first started getting in to street teaming when I was 15 and a sophomore in high school. Through promoting around the area and meeting other people passing out flyers & stickers at shows I got hooked up with the Island Records Street Team at the end of my junior year. It was around this time that I got involved with Velocity’s street team and doing promotions. Over the next year I was pretty much promoting something everywhere that I went.

After the spring 2005 college semester ended, I decided to take some time off from school. This is when I became an intern at Velocity. After doing this for some time, I started to run the street team so that Casey could focus on other aspects of the company. This is when I knew that I was where I wanted to be. I have had nothing but positive experiences come from this position and have had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people.
